Meeting with Dr. Gualtieri, Supt. of N.A. School

Picture
Dr. Gualtieri, Supt. of N.A. School will be attending the BW regular meeting on December 12 at 7:00 p.m.   The meeting will be held in the lower level of the BW fire hall to accommodate the anticipated crowd.  He has courteously agreed to attend our council meeting to update the Borough on the status of the School District's plans to cut costs and the possible impact on the continued operation of BW Elementary School.   If you wish to address Dr. Gualtieri, you must notify the BOROUGH OFFICE AT 724-935-2990, or via email (bradfordwoods@zoominternet.net) and have your name placed on the speaker's list.   Please keep in mind if you are among a group of concerned parents, it would be to your benefit to have one spokes person address council.   Also, if during the course of the meeting, a prior speaker presents the same question or position as you, please refrain from speaking to avoid a repetition.   This visit by Dr. Gualtieri is scheduled for the initial 30 minutes of the meeting and will not be an entire meeting item.   The intent is not to engage in a debate or antagonize the Superintendent in any way.   Council President will maintain strict protocol in accordance with Robert's Rules of Order.

Speaking at School Board Meetings

Picture
If you would like to speak, you must reserve a spot in advance. Details can be found here: http://www.northallegheny.org/page/1046
 Work Sessions
*The first opportunity is near the beginning of Work Sessions. This agenda item, called “Community Relations,” is a 15-minute time period set aside by the Board President to hear residents speak. Each speaker may speak once, for up to two minutes, on any topic. Each Board member may have up to two minutes to respond. At the end of 15 minutes, the Board will move to the next agenda item. Speakers must then wait until the end of the Work Session to address the Board.

*At the end of every Work Session, after Board reports have been presented and after the Board folder has been reviewed, community residents will be given an opportunity to speak for up to 5 minutes (for those who call in advance) or for up to 2 minutes (those who call in advance get to speak first; then all others).

- To register to speak for 5 minutes, please call the Board secretary at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting at 412/369-5437. It will be necessary to give a topic and you must be a resident of the District. Speakers will be taken in the order that they called. When called upon to speak, the individual will be asked to give his/her name and home address

- To register to speak for 2 minutes, please call the Board secretary at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting at 412/369-5437. The N/A School Board is reviewing options from a Demographics & Feasibility Study
http://www.northallegheny.org/Page/8568 . Two out of three options proposed include closing BWE. We feel doing so would negatively impact both our children and our community. Please join us as we work to keep the top- performing elementary school in the district open for our children.
